Ways To Train Your Bird At The Bird Arena (Page 2)

Hang at the various places to see how long the bird will play:

a) edge of the chai group
b) front centre of the chai group
c) rear centre of the chai group
d) centre, right in the middle of the chai group
e) second last hanging spot of the edge of chai group

Find out which is the bird's favourite hanging spot in chai. The spot is different for different birds.

3) Constant push training (this is my favourite, it also makes me alert and focused on the bird instead of lazing at morning breakfast and coffee at the chai):

Hang the bird, watch him play and sing. If he stops playing for 10 mins, change his hanging spot.

Keep doing this to keep him active. See if you can make him play and sing for 1 to 2 hrs depending on your luxury of time at chai.

He will come to a point that he is totally exhausted and tired after being shifted and playing/singing. Then bring him down, cover cloth and hang him away from the chai group.

Train him this - when he gets into the chai group, his job is to play and sing, if he stops, it's cover cloth time, no chance to play or sing while being hung alone (competition birds must play with other birds, not alone), time to go home.

Note: this method is often used by the bird devils or masters to check on how long the bird can play and if it’s a worthwhile gamble to field the bird in a competition. This also gives you the opportunity to measure the exact fitness/form level of the bird.

If the bird plays for a longer period at each successful chai without changing the hanging place, it means that the bird is improving.

If the bird plays for only a total of 30 minutes despite changing the hanging place, it is not fit at all. You have to go back to the basics of sunning, bathing/drying the bird, providing the proper diet regime and proper sleep to the bird for at least one week before you can take the bird out to chai and test this way.

4) Do NOT chai the same bird too often.

I recommend once a week or a fortnight.

Conclusions:

Frustration training however can be done 3 times a week or even on a daily basis. It depends on the bird.

The only way to find out which method works is to test the bird after you have performed that particular method for 2 weeks or up to 1 month.

The objective is - never let the bird get bored with chai.
