Just a fancy term that I have given to the term "Crossbreeds".

 

The definition here of a crossbreed usually refers to an offspring of a mating between the Red Whiskered Bulbul and another bulbul species like the Yellow Vented Bulbul (YVBB) or Striped Throated Bulbul (STBB).

 

Matings of such kinds do happen in the wild but some hobbyists have taken this breeding into a higher level: breeding champion lineage into these birds.

 

There are many ways to breed, each way has its own pros and cons (eg. diagram on the right) but the ultimate goal is to get a bird which is stronger, louder and have more stamina in display.

 

Crossbreeds are popular and famous in Thailand and champion lineage crossbreeds are well known in winning competitions for years now.
